WE LOVE MATH :D
Applications!
Find the unknown angles^^.
Some real life applications^^
Ever saw holes on the streets?
(Wondering what they are for? It makes it easier for men to get
underneath to fix pipes and cables. Anyway, that is not the main
point.)
Notice that they all have a circular shape? Can you guess why is
that so?
Suppose the holes are not in use and you have to cover them
with something very strong, for example, a heavy metal lid, so
cars can drive down the street without being damaged.
It would also be nice if the heavy cover would fit on the hole
nicely-without being able to fit through the hole.
The only possible shape is a circle. Why?
Because you can't turn the shape sideways and fit it through
itself as the projection of a circle from two dimensions to one
(the radius) has the same size.
